Finally got my printer up and running. Have played with a few things. Downloads stuff from thingaverse and sliced them with the slicer included with my Ender-3 v2 Neo. Looking at creating some custom 3D prints. Was wondering what 3D software people were using for custom creations and which slicers people prefer?

Awesome! The Neo looks great! I wish that was around when I started. I am using Orca slicer, it’s a branch of Bambu Slicer, which was based on Prusa Slicer. (That was a mouthful lol). If Orca/Bambu wasn’t around I would probably be using Prusa Slicer. Honestly though you can’t go wrong with any of the slicers people here have mentioned. They all have enough features to pump out quality. Some settings might be called something different between them. Nothing a quick google search or help feature in the slicer can’t help with.
I currently use Fusion360 (free version). It had a bit of a learning curve but once you figure out the workflow its great. I think quite a few people use solid works also. You’ll probably hear Blender tossed around as well. Some people actually use all three on the same file to accomplish different things.. that’s a deep rabbit hole lol.
Tinkercad might work for some stuff, depending what your goals are and what you’re trying to make.
Once I am done with a course I am working on I’ll start on an intro to Fusion360 course. I am hoping to be done this weekend or next with my current project.
Happy Printing! Drop some pics of your setup and some prints when you get time 😁
